Professional Online Counselling and Therapy Across Scotland

At The Wee Therapy Rooms (TWTR), we provide online counselling and therapy for adults (16+) and couples throughout Scotland. Online sessions allow you to access professional support from the comfort and privacy of your own home.

Many people find online counselling to be just as effective as face-to-face therapy, while offering you greater flexibility around work, family commitments, mobility difficulties, health concerns, or location.

Whether you live elsewhere in Scotland, have a busy schedule, or simply prefer the convenience of remote sessions, online counselling can provide a safe and accessible way to access support.

What is Online Counselling?

Online counselling takes place through secure video calls, allowing you to meet with your therapist remotely from a location that feels comfortable and private.

The therapeutic process remains largely the same as in-person therapy, providing a confidential and supportive space to explore thoughts, emotions, behaviours, relationships, and life experiences.

Some clients find that being in their own environment helps them feel more relaxed and comfortable when discussing difficult experiences.

What Can Online Therapy Help With?

Online counselling and therapy can support people experiencing a wide range of difficulties, including:

Anxiety and excessive worry
• Depression and low mood
• Stress and burnout
Low self-esteem and self-criticism
• Relationship difficulties
• Trauma and difficult past experiences
• Loss and grief
• Life transitions and uncertainty
• Sleep difficulties and insomnia
• Emotional overwhelm

Online sessions can be suitable for both short-term and longer-term therapeutic work, depending on your needs and goals.

Is Online Therapy Effective?

benefits of online counselling scotland

Research suggests that online therapy can be highly effective for many common mental health difficulties.

Many clients report that online sessions feel just as meaningful and productive as face-to-face therapy. For some, the ability to attend sessions from a familiar environment can help reduce anxiety and make it easier to engage in the therapeutic process.

Online counselling can also make therapy more accessible by reducing travel time and allowing people to access support regardless of where they live within Scotland.
